Cutting edge Beit Midrash program
Track A – Taharat HaMishpacha and Life Cycle Events
A two year track, two days and one evening per week
The Morah L’Halakha Program at Matan HaSharon is training highly qualified women to become certified as community leaders and Halakhic advisors who are thoroughly versed in Halakhot related to family purity and the full range of life-cycle events (from child-birth through mourning). In parallel with their Halakhic studies, the participants delve into the psychological and medical aspects of these life-cycle events, enabling them to strengthen their understanding, professionalize and elevate the quality of the advice that they give.
The program is one of a kind both in terms of the depth and breadth of the material studied and its location in the central part of Israel where no such opportunities for high level Halakha study for women exist.
In addition to the Beit Midrash learning, experts in a host of medical and allied medical fields run workshops on wide-ranging, relevant topics. The program provides the students with a holistic approach to Halakhic issues, emanating from the understanding that Halakha is intrinsically connected to other aspects of our lives. Experts include doctors, psychologists, sexologists, social workers, physio-therapists and other health professionals.
Track B – Advanced Halakhic Study
A two year rotation of topics, one day per week
Graduates of Track A of the Morot L’Halakh or equivalent level Beit Midrash programs, learn Hilkhot Shabbat, Issur veHeter, Brachot veTefila, etc.
The graduates of the program implement their halakhic knowledge in their communities, in their work and by answering individual questions. They come from various locations all over Israel and are leaders in their communities, make halakha accessible in the community and serve today as Rabbaniyot in schools, teach in various midrashot, and are involved in research and halakhic writing. They take part in the halakhic discourse. They answer questions they receive both personally and through the Matan initiative – Isha El Achota – Face to Face with a Morah L’Halakha.
Both tracks are taught in Hebrew.
