Course Description
Storytelling has long been a favorite medium for passing down age old wisdom, ethical mores, and philosophical ideas. In Jewish tradition, aggadot in the Talmud and Midrash do just that, passing wisdom from generation to generation. Woven in between the complex legal discourse, these aggadot – often overlooked as mere stories- serve as the bedrock of our moral heritage. Our Sages brilliantly tell narratives – sometimes literal, sometimes allegorical – saturated with symbolism and halakhic references. As we unpack these riveting texts, we will discover the beauty and wisdom that is Midrashic literature.
