Course Description
This year we will explore the chapters of Shaul’s monarchy and continue to David and the promise of dynasty. Through textual analysis and sensitivity to literary devices of pshat and derash, we will note the differences between the navi’s presentation of David in contrast to Shaul. As we compare the beginnings, the coronation, and the character traits of the respective kings of Israel, numerous religious-national messages will be broadcast for our generation as well.
