Course Description
This course will explore the stories in Bereishit that focus on Isaac’s life. We will open with the birth of Rebecca and follow the narrative trajectory until the dramatic story of Isaac blessing his sons (chapters 23-27). In our examination, we will utilize rabbinic and medieval exegesis alongside literary techniques to mine these chapters for their theological and moral messages.
