Course Description

In this course we will read the narrative sections of Daniel, Ezra, and Nehemiah. These books describe life after the destruction of the Beit Hamikdash, both in the Babylonian diaspora and after the Jews returned to the land of Israel. We will focus both on the theological dilemmas these Jews faced as well as on the political and economic issues with which they dealt.
