Course Description

Through close textual analysis and discussion, this course will delve into the personalities, history, historiography, and intellectual life of the sages who shaped our understanding of Oral Law, Talmud, and Halakha.

About the Educator Catriella Freedman

is the director of author and illustrator stewardship for PJ Library, the largest distributor of Jewish children's books in the world. Catriella holds a BA in religion from Princeton University and an MA in Jewish studies from Harvard University. She’s studied at Midreshet Lindenbaum and Drisha and has lectured widely on subjects ranging from Maimonides to Jewish peoplehood and is the author of the Melton curriculum Foundations for Jewish Family Living. She and her husband are raising four kids in Zichron Ya’akov.
