Course Description
Even as the State of Israel grows more modern and urban with every passing year, Tanakh is still all around us. Join Matan Chashmonaim and tour guides Yehuda Dominitz and Shulie Mishkin in exploring some of the areas that shaped the Biblical story and still influence us today.
- Journey Through Gezer and Hulda: מהתנ”ך לתש”ח Tel Gezer, an ancient
archaeological site, bears witness to thousands of years of history, from its
Canaanite roots to its role in biblical narratives including the first Hebrew text
ever! From Gezer we will continue on to the modern story of Herzl House in Hulda. With Yehuda Tuesday Oct 10th or 17th

Yehuda Dominitz was born and raised in the lsrael to an English speaking family, served in the paratroopers, and studied at the Hesder Yeshiva in Maale Adumim.
He holds rabbinic ordination from the Chief Rabbinate and a second-degree in
education from Tel Aviv University. He teaches Bible and Jewish thought at Lapid
Yeshivah High school in Modiin and in Midreshet Modiin for women. Since
completing a course as a Moreh Derech, he has been guiding groups of youth
and adults throughout the country, fostering a connection between Jewish
sources and the land. I believe that every journey to the land is an opportunity
for reflection, change, and connection to the land and its inhabitants.
Shulie Mishkin made Aliyah from New York with a Masters degree in Jewish
History from Columbia University. After completing the Ministry of Tourism guide
course in 1997, she began guiding professionally and has since taught and
guided all ages, from toddlers to retirees. Her tours provide a complete picture of
the land of Israel and Jewish heritage, with a strong reliance on sources ranging
from the Bible to 19th century travelers' reports. Alongside her regular guide
work, she teaches tour and text courses in the Jerusalem institutions of Pardes
and Matan, and provides tours for special needs students in the “Darkaynu”
program. She also teaches virtually to students all over the world

** The payment covers ten trips throughout the year, depending on the weather and other technical factors.
*** Registration is now, the opening of the course is subject to a minimum number of participants.
