The opening word (and hence name) of Sefer Vayikra is certainly not the topic of the book, however it can provide us with a guide towards understanding the deeper meaning of its commandments, especially in relation to the ritual laws regarding the Mishkan. As in our study of Breishit & Shmot, our classes will focus on a careful analysis of the text (and its context), as we attempt to cover the entire book in search of its Biblical themes and eternal messages.

His essays on Parshat Ha’Shavua reflect his vibrant thematic-analytical approach, blending the methods of modern scholarship with traditional approaches. As a Rebbe at Yeshivat Har Etzion, where he founded the Yeshiva's Virtual Beit Midrash, he is best known for his ability to teach students how to study Tanakh. Rabbi Leibtag also teaches at Yeshivat Shaalavim, Midreshet Lindenbaum, and Matan and routinely lectures around the globe, primarily as a scholar in residence in communities in North America.
